HELI Opens Its Logistics Center in Uruguay

We are pleased to announce that HELI, the renowned manufacturer of industrial vehicles such as forklifts, has invested US$ 5 million in opening its own logistics center at Zonamérica, Uruguay. With this investment, our company, which is part of the Chinese group Anhui HELI Co., Ltd., aims to turn Uruguay into a strategic logistics hub for our operations in South and Central America.

This center will not only allow us to improve our distribution in the region, but will also open new growth opportunities. In fact, we have plans for an additional investment of US$ 5 million in the future, if business develops successfully, which will allow us to increase the stock of products in the country.

Leading the forklift market

HELI has been a benchmark in the forklift market for years, and since 2022, our leadership began considering the possibility of establishing an operations center in South America. This center will allow us to be closer to our customers and respond quickly to their needs, improving our distribution times and proximity to the markets of Brazil, Argentina and Chile, which are key for us.

In China, we have led the forklift market for 33 years and today we are among the top 7 companies in the sector worldwide. Recently, Modern Materials Handling magazine highlighted us among the 20 best forklift suppliers of 2024, which is a recognition of our effort and growth.

Why Uruguay?

We chose Uruguay after evaluating several countries in the region. The good commercial relationship with China, social and economic stability, and a favorable business environment were some of the key factors in making this decision. Uruguay provides us with a clear legal framework and a safe environment, which is fundamental for us, as we value following laws and regulations to the letter.

Furthermore, the strategic location of Uruguay, at the center of the region, facilitates our connection with the main markets in Latin America. From here, we can manage our business more efficiently and be closer to our customers.

Our expansion plans in the region

We are already operating from a provisional location and, in October of this year, we will hold the official opening of our headquarters. During this inauguration, we will have the presence of government authorities, global HELI representatives and our suppliers, who will meet for the first time at this event.

Our team is composed of professionals from China and Uruguay, and we have plans to expand our local workforce. This year, we will look to hire around 15 people, and we expect to reach a total of 30 employees by 2025. We want HELI to be a stronger company in South America, and for that, it is essential to have local talent.
